Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
I know, I know…this post is actually a last minute decision lol. But I figured, why not share my tradition and celebrate love with you all eyyy? *wink wink*
So welcome! welcome! I hope you’re having a fabulous day, taking all that love in. Let me come out clean, I actually believe my Valentine’s day is NOT complete if I don’t listen to “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack! And I developed this tradition three years ago…the very first time I heard this song :). So yes, this entire post is inspired by “I hope you dance” haha…. you dancing yet?
There was something liberating and soothing about the song, I couldn’t really deny that. At first, it was kind of bittersweet tho; well, maybe because I was just grumbling a lot: “oh I don’t have anyone to dance with… oh ewww, isn’t it crazy to dance alone… ohh but I don’t even feel like dancing… ohh please, spare me all the mushiness…” lol. Then I would look at the people around me loving up on one another…opening social media was the worst thing to do on Valentine’s day too because it would put thoughts in my head…maybe regrets too. I’d get more upset when someone said something like “ohh it’s okay if you don’t have anyone to celebrate with, at least you have Jesus.” (can you hear me laughing out loud at this point). Well, I only got upset then because I didn’t fully understand the concept of love. I wanted gifts too, I wanted cuddles too, I wanted to put up a cute post too…with the most magical love lines haha, I wanted all the mushiness and hugs too, and I wanted to Dance…because I thought that was all there was to love. Overtime, I did get to dance! in a special kind of way…lemme share why…
My reasons are written in hope that you realize and celebrate the beauty of love and the power to love. I’ve put up a short clip from this favorite song of mine, alongside my reasons for dancing right here
Please click away, enjoyyy, and don’t forget to share! I’d absolutely love to read your Valentine stories too, and your go-to songs…please share in the comments, spread the love and DANCE!
Blessings to YOU!
